Up at the ski area it’s full on spring skiing and riding on everything that is open.

The Snow has converted over to some nice Mammoth corn.  Things have set up each night so the corn continues to get better on a daily basis. Just remember it’s firm early and then you want to follow the sun as it softens up the snow.

The big WCI weekend is coming up and the event will be at Canyon Lodge this Saturday night.  Check out Mammoth Mountain’s Web site for more details.

Lifts that will be open are 1, 2, 3, 6, 11 and G1 and G2. Lift hours are from 8:30 to 4pm.  Unbound Main is open with a full set up for your enjoyment.  Look for lot’s of pro  riders around the park until closing day.

Looks like about 1-2 inches of this wet stuff has fallen on a base of 2-6 feet of spring corn snow.

We have not had a freeze now for several days,  Should be some fun adventure skiing and riding today.  Expect clear blue skies with spring returning for the weekend.

Lifts that will be open the are 1, 2, 3, 6, 11 and G1 and G2. Lift hours are from 8:30 to 4pm.  Things are a bit firm to start but turn soft fast.  As for grooming the next few days look for the crew to hit  up 27 runs with a total of about  288 acres groomed out.

Spring is full force on the entire hill.  We are expecting temperatures in the upper 50′s today with light afternoon winds.

We still have a 2-6 foot base with corn snow over the entire hill at this time.  Time to break out the sunscreen and sun glasses.

Spring is full force on the entire hill.  We are expecting temperatures in the upper 60′s today with light afternoon winds.

Time to break out the sunscreen and sun glasses.  The snow is making a nice transition to corn after 3 days of the thaw and freeze cycle.

I would recommend getting your gear a hot wax before you hit the hill.  If you have not used our Free Offer from Footloose now is the time.

Mammoth Mountain is having it’s last weekend of full operation for the season.  Starting next Monday skiing and riding will be out of the Main Lodge areas.  Expect 1, 2, 3, 6, 11, and G1 and G2 to be running next week.

At mixed bag of conditions out on Mammoth Mountain.

The bottom half of the ski area is all spring conditions at this time.  Mid Mountain has some spring and winter pack with it’s all winter pack up top.

Highs by Friday could be as high as 70 at Canyon Lodge so bring your snow screen and wax your gear up for the wet snow.

Mammoth Mountain is having it’s last week of full operation for the season.  Starting next Monday skiing and riding will be out of the Main Lodge areas.   Pond Skim this Sunday at Canyon Lodge for the closing day fun.  See you all there.

Mammoth picked up a good 2-3 feet in the powder fields of Mammoth during the last storm cycle.

All that nice winter snow will be converting to spring on the lower half of the mountain in the next couple days. Later in the week things get real toasty so the face of three and five areas might start turning over to spring snow.

Up top it will get fast and firm up over the next few days.  Cornice is getting groomed every night so it’s got some of the best snow up top.

Mammoth Mountain is having it’s last week of full operation for the season.  Starting next Monday skiing and riding will be out of the Main Lodge areas.

Mammoth has picked up a good 18-24 inches in the last 24 hours.  What a mid April treat to be skiing and riding in face shot powder.

Face of Five, 3, 22 and 25 all went off early this morning under 2-3 inches per hour snowfall.  The powder started a bit heavy and then turned into some excellent fluff.

So as of 1pm it is still snowing lightly up top and that means the top is still closed.  Saturday should be epic under pt cloudy snow showery skies.  We would expect to see the top, 23, 9 and 14 to all offer up fresh tracks for your Saturday morning.

Looks like this could be the last shot of powder for the season so if your reading this on Friday pm pack up and get on up here!

Looks like the snow could turn heavy at times tonight and by late Friday we should have a good 18-24 inches of fresh snow out on the hill.

This looks to be the last powder days of the years so get in on the harvest on Friday and Saturday.  Check out the weather guys complete write up here.

I found Packed Powder, Wind Buff, Hard Pack and some Ice in spots.   Best bet is to start out at chair 2 if your going early.  The snow down low is way to firm early in the am right now.

So today Monday it will be a spring skiing and riding fest with a high near 50 at main lodge.  This spring weather is on the way out with winds and clouds moving in on late Tuesday.

It appears we will get a 1 2 storm punch before things start to warm up again late next Sunday.   WG will have a fresh outlook for us on Tuesday. Right now QPF charts show a good chance for 20 – 30+ inches over the crest by Sunday.  Get ready for some powder action and then it will turn to muck by Monday.
