Mammoth Snowman Report 6-25-2017

6-25-2017 1PM – Hello from Mammoth Mountain. We still have tons of snow up here with a base of 35-170+ inches out on the hill.

That base should allow the upper Mountain to remain open into late July and possibly August. At this time there is no set closing date for the ski area.

The Mountain Bike park is now open from 9AM to 5PM.  Uptown, Downtown, Big Ring and a rebuilt Shot Gun will be open.

Weather wise it’s summer time now with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s all the way up to Mc Coy station. Night time lows will continue to be warm in the mid to upper 40s.

Snow conditions are now back to summer corn and slush. Make sure to wax your gear up daily for the best glide on the snow. Footloose is still doing the FREE Snowman Hot Wax. Check down the page for the coupon.

Today the best skiing and snowboarding up top was on Climax, Hangman’s, Cornice Bowl Drop Out, Wipe Out, Fascination,  and Andy’s Double Gold. The snow by 10 am on these runs is just about perfect under the summer snow.

Nothing like super fun summer corn snow. Check out the video report below with some clips from Climax around 11am on Sunday.

If your coming up make plans to start out of the mill and ride up chair 2.  The snow starts to get soft fast and by 7:30 AM Stump Alley is soft with everything else getting soft by 8:00 to 8:30 AM.

Lifts running will be chairs will be 1, 2, 3, and 23 along with G1 and G2. Lifts hours are now running 7:30AM to 2PM. Please note chair 5 is also open at times when the mountain runs their high performance camps. After July 4th we expect only Chairs 3 and G2 will be open with access via G1.
